My Fiancé

Chris and I met through a friend in November of 2009.  We quickly decided we liked each other and started spending a lot of time together.  He has revived my spirit.  He encourages me to be who I am and doesn’t let me dwell on my faults.  He loves me and he is undoubtedly the best thing that has ever happened to  me.  I was the girl who was happy being single and decided I didn’t need a man (yay Feminism!) and while I do believe I would have survived  (kept breathing) without Chris, I doubt I would be able to call it “living.”

Meet Wilson, my new BFF.   He’s a pretty cool little guy and I am thankful to my sweet fiance for making him my 2010 Christmas present.  What a cutie, right?  He is named after a key player in the Gamehenge saga but also responds to: Woodrow Wilson, Mr. Wrinkle Face, Mr. Wilson and “da na, da na… Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilson”.   He enjoys: running laps around the dining room table, walking on mom & dad, playing with friends, sniffing dog butts and being uber cute.

 Live Music.

I have always loved live music.   Within our first few weeks of dating,  my fiance revived (or just enabled) my love of Phish and while I won’t tell you how many shows I have seen (in hopes of more Phish phriendly phans who would surely call me a custy n00b), I can assure you that I have read the book.  I look forward to tour announcements and will be in attendance at my fist phish festival this summer, Superball IX !  Phish  has defined our life motto of “buying memories instead of things”  and so far,  it has been completely worth it.

Family & Friends.

I dont know where I would be without my amzing family and friends, my support system.  I am so lucky to have all of these wonderful people in my life and feel very blessed.  My mom, dad, sisters, brothers-in-law, niece and friends are the best!

A desire to change the world.

When I was told that I needed to decide what I would do with the rest of my life, I quickly realized that I had no idea.  All I knew was that I wanted to change the world.  Here I am, 9 years later and I still don’t know what that means!  Having been a support person at a women’s clinic, an elementary school teacher, a children’s advocate at a Domestic Violence Shelter, a grant administrator and now a volunteer coordinator/AmeriCorps member, I still don’t have it figured out.  I want to make a positive impact in my community and I want to stand-up for what I believe is right and just.
